Flexsteel Jacknife RV sofa beds are a popular choice for the recreational vehicle where installation and space is a concern. These RV sofa beds also fit nicely in horse trailer living quarters, the sleeper cab of big rig trucks and many other areas that have obstructions under each end that limit installation.

Jacknife sofa beds are designed to mount on top of a platform, or over obstructions that are no higher than 12” (without modifications). The bed mechanism is in the side of the seat and back, allowing for installation over raised obstructions at either end. Jacknife® sofa beds come standard with NO legs or finished ends.

The Flexsteel Jackknife sofa bed opens by pulling the center of the seat cushion up, and then out (the same as a Flexsteel Easy Bed sofa. The back automatically reclines as the Jacknife seat cushion opens out into the room. The front panel can be removed to allow access for the storage area under the seat. Our newest style (see the VS-2795 below) also has an option for raising the seat cushion into an open position to allow access under the seat without removing the front panel.

NOTE: Our  FLEXSTEEL EASY BEDS also operate up and out into the RV or room area with storage under the seating area - very similar to the Flexsteel Jacknife sofa bed. Photo at left shows the end of a Flexsteel Jacknife sofa bed in the open position, with no arms and one of our adjustable leg kits (optional). This leg kit places the side frame at 11˝” up from the floor.

With the leg kit shown, the top of the back cushion is approximately 34” from the floor when the sofa is not open.
